Training Visual Designers Grafting Sensibility Faithful to the Basics to the Latest Trends
The Department of Visual Communication Design at Soong Eui Women’s University started off as the Department of Industrial Design in 1972 and has been providing education faithful to the principle of basic design for over 50 years. The department is satisfying the needs of individual students by providing practice-centered education courses suitable for the rapidly-changing media environment.
Educational goal
The Department of Visual Communication Design is putting its heart and soul into ‘training professional visual designers equipped with creative character’ in line with the era of sensibility by exchanging visual information through various channels. Furthermore, we are making sure students share and practice knowledge with sites needing sharing of love through volunteer services based on the Christian spirit.

Department characteristics
The Department of Visual Communication Design is not sparing any efforts in reflecting the latest trends based on education faithful to the basics. We have strengthened the education on Figma for app and web design and the video editing training course using video editing and aftereffects of Adobe Premiere for video design. We provide personal Adobe account IDs when students enter our university to help them make design achievements. In addition, the department also operates various design training programs during the summer in cooperation with SVA (School of Visual Arts) in New York.
